New rock the vote mobile application helps voters identify their ideal presidential candidate match
LOS ANGELES and LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Aug. 13, 2004 -- Today, Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) and Rock the Vote announced the debut of the new Rock the Vote Mobile Find Your Candidate application, a first-of-its-kind wireless questionnaire that assists voters in making the right choice for them when it comes to picking a leader in November. As the presidential election draws near, the new application, which merges the latest in wireless technology with a topical survey, represents the most current Rock the Vote Mobile initiative designed to encourage young adults to vote in 2004.
To experience the new Rock the Vote Mobile Find Your Candidate application, consumers can simply download the application to a Java(TM) technology-enabled mobile handset or follow the questionnaire via a WAP interface. Questions posed in the survey focus on substantial social and political issues at the forefront of this year's campaign including war, taxes and the environment. Responses are weighed and, following the completion of the questionnaire, participants are presented with the name of the major party candidate who most closely aligns with their views.
"With the launch of the Find Your Candidate application, the Rock the Vote Mobile initiative continues to empower young voters to take an active role in the upcoming election," said Kathleen Finato, Senior Director of Marketing for Motorola, Inc. "The application provides individuals with a new vehicle to obtain and interpret valuable information to encourage active participation in our country's election process."
"Find Your Candidate is an excellent application to help inform and mobilize the young wireless generation as they make their choice for the next President of the United States," said Jehmu Greene, Rock the Vote President and CEO. "Young people are constantly on the go, and Rock the Vote Mobile provides them the tools they need to stay informed in this election season."
