Cincom selects JasperSoft to power business intelligence for all Cincom BI applications

Strategic Software Partnership Leverages Open Source BI as Reporting and Analytics Standard

San Francisco, CA, April 8, 2008 -- JasperSoft, the market leader in open source business intelligence (BI), today announced that worldwide software provider Cincom Systems, Inc. has selected the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite to power all Cincom BI applications. Cincom will standardize on JasperSoft as its business intelligence platform across its software offerings, extending the value of BI and reporting to all Cincom customers.

Cincom first joined the JasperSoft open source BI community through, JasperSoft’s community developer site, using JasperSoft’s Community Edition products and contributing code to enhance mainframe data access capabilities in the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite. These contributions were incorporated into the JasperSoft product family and ultimately became part of the core product line.

The partnership continued to grow well beyond the original engineering work, resulting in a commercial relationship delivering scalable, embeddable BI technology for Cincom’s customers. Now using the JasperSoft Professional Edition product line—including JasperServer Professional and JasperAnalysis Professional—Cincom is embedding, customizing and extending business intelligence into its database management solutions, contact center solutions and all BI applications at a fraction of the cost of proprietary BI solutions.

“Our customers need to analyze their performance in a way that’s quick, effective and intuitive,” said Jeff Gunderson, engineering manager for database products for Cincom. “In order to provide that level of business intelligence, we needed a collaborative product development environment, functionality that suited our customer’s business requirements, and a first-rate line of support. Cincom is making BI cost effective for use with legacy databases and JasperSoft has become our standard for business intelligence across our product line.”

JasperSoft currently powers Cincom BI applications including:

** Business Intelligence for Synchrony Synchrony is a contact center and customer experience management solution; BI for Synchrony enables users to report and analyze call center agent activity and customer interaction information. Users can leverage an array of pre-defined reports, drill-down analytics, easy end-user report definition and intuitive tools for scheduling, sharing, and distributing critical data—all powered by JasperReports and JasperAnalysis technology.

** Cincom Business Intelligence (CincomBI) provides three layers of BI technology for companies that depend on mainframe operational systems: the Data Access bridge to pre-relational, data structures, a relational Data Warehouse for presenting access-optimized information to SQL-based access tools, and the analytics and reporting tools themselves, powered by JasperServer Professional and JasperAnalysis Professional. Business users can access, analyze and report key operational data—on products, profit trends, sales, productivity, and more—without the need to learn complex query languages.

** Business Intelligence for SUPRA shares many elements with CincomBI, bringing data warehousing, reporting and analytics capabilities to enterprises accessing Cincom’s SUPRA database for operational data. JasperServer Professional and JasperAnalysis Professional power the analytics and reporting portions of this solution.

“We're pleased to partner with Cincom, and to have been selected to deliver BI on top of an already superior product line,” says Sherman Wood, Director of Business Intelligence for JasperSoft. “Our relationship with Cincom clearly demonstrates our ability to provide an easy-to-use, highly embeddable, scalable technology for software vendors needing access to the benefits of BI.”
