MobilTel selects Teradata for analytical intelligence

Leading Bulgarian mobile operator implements an enterprise data warehouse to optimize decision making and customer relationship management

LISBON, Portugal, April 21, 2008 —- Teradata Corporation (NYSE:TDC), the global leader in enterprise data warehousing, today announced that MobilTel AD, Bulgaria's number one mobile operator, is implementing a Teradata system for pan-enterprise business intelligence with a focus on marketing analytics to improve customer relationship management (CRM).

The Teradata information environment will provide both deeply detailed data as well as aggregated reports — resulting in faster and more accurate intelligence for decision making. The system will also ensure more precise and insightful business analyses — derived from high-performance in-database data mining. With key performance indicators readily available, MobilTel will be able to enrich its business intelligence as well as optimize its CRM.

"We have five million customers and we made a decision to make a major change in the data warehouse and selected Teradata as the vendor for our data warehousing requirements. Previously we have used Oracle throughout our information infrastructure. Teradata Warehouse creates a single view on the business by integrating all data across the entire organization of MobilTel. During the implementation process, MobilTel's data will be defined more clearly, coherence of its data management will be ensured and data security will be improved. The implementation is supported by experts from Mobilkom Austria Group, which took over MobilTel in 2005.
