from DSSResources.comOracle deepens industry functionality, broadens business intelligence capabilities in new release of Oracle E-Business SuiteLONDON, Oracle OpenWorld, Sept. 7, 2004 -- Yesterday, at Oracle OpenWorld London, Ron Wohl, Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) executive vice president of application development, detailed some of the new industry capabilities of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10. "Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 offers significant, new industry-specific functionality to meet the needs of the business and government sectors," said Wohl. He explained that Oracle worked closely with customers and industry user groups to help develop the latest release of the Oracle E-Business Suite. Wohl stressed that the overriding objective was to allow organizations "to progressively automate more and more of their systems with better results." According to Wohl, healthcare was one of numerous industries Oracle worked with in developing the new release. He said Oracle intends to expand its presence in healthcare armed with the new features of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10. "To improve the quality of care while reducing operating costs, Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 includes Oracle Healthcare Transaction Base, a service framework that helps healthcare organizations integrate, develop and operate healthcare applications," said Wohl. In addition to deeper industry functionality, Wohl explained that Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 can also provide significant new business intelligence capabilities to all industries at a fraction of the cost. "Oracle has significantly expanded the capabilities of Oracle Daily Business Intelligence, which now features 82 percent more reports, 53 percent more key measurements, as well as 13 percent more role-specific dashboards," said Wohl. As the only company to offer a complete set of enterprise applications integrated around a single, common data model, Wohl said, "Oracle can deliver business intelligence information and transactional information in the same system, enabling customers to have a real-time dashboard into their business at one-tenth the cost of traditional intelligence implementations." Additional features of the release, expected to be available in 60 days, include enhanced integration capabilities between Oracle and third-party software, and a new user interface that streamlines business flows and simplifies system interaction.
