from DSSResources.comGallup Organization selects Oracle® Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition for analytics and reportingRedwood Shores, Calif., November 3, 2008 -- Gallup, Inc., who has studied human nature and behavior for more than 70 years and has the reputation for delivering relevant, timely, and visionary research on what people around the world think and feel, has deployed Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (Oracle BI Suite EE) to deliver timely, fact-based information and reports to external and internal clients, Oracle announced today. Newly Implemented BI Platform Enables Dynamic, Self-Service Reporting On September 29, 2008, Gallup went live with its first external client to the new Oracle BI Suite EE-powered platform. Gallup is on track to offer Oracle BI Suite EE to additional external clients this calendar year with a target to complete the offering to 100 percent of their external clients by end of 2010. Clients rely on Gallup’s research to help them make better decisions related to customer service, human resources, and marketing, among many other disciplines. Gallup’s external clients will be able to benefit from the scalability of the BI platform as well as its dynamic features through the incorporation of interactive charts, graphs and maps within their custom dashboards and reports. Oracle BI Suite EE went live at Gallup in February 2008 enabling greater visibility into critical business information through the delivery of financial and sales dashboards and reports to its executive management, finance, accounting, and sales teams. Oracle BI Suite EE is used within Gallup to analyze and query data sourced from its ERP system – the Oracle E-Business Suite – specifically from the Oracle Financials, Oracle Marketing and Oracle Sales modules. In addition to having greater insight into the business, internal audiences at Gallup also have increased control over what data to analyze, how to analyze the data, and how to then consume that data due to the ease of use of Oracle BI Suite EE. The self-service nature of the product has helped to improve access to timely information within Gallup as well as eliminate the need for Gallup’s IT organization to develop dashboards and reports. Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher is used widely across Gallup to author, manage and deliver the company’s pixel-perfect reporting needs. A clustered Oracle Database environment is used by Gallup to help ensure that client research as well as operational data is highly available and secure. Gallup engaged Oracle Consulting to help ensure it had the proper foundation in place to install and implement Oracle BI Suite EE quickly and efficiently. Gallup worked with Optimum Solutions to extend the authentication capabilities from Gallup’s portal to Oracle BI Suite EE -- enabling its external clients to access their reports as needed. Optimum is a leading implementer of the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise, Oracle’s Demantra and Oracle’s Business Intelligence solutions, and is a Certified Advantage Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork. Looking forward, Gallup is planning to deploy Oracle Project Management and Resource Management (early 2009) and is evaluating several Oracle EPM System components such as Oracle Hyperion Planning, Oracle Essbase as well as the pre-built Oracle Business Intelligence Applications. “Oracle BI Suite EE is a product that is powerful yet simple enough that the development of the dashboards, reports and scorecards has been passed to the business users from IT,” said Jim Collison, Oracle Product Manager at Gallup. “We now provide our business users with a self-service analytics and reporting platform that delivers access to the necessary data and tools in a controlled and secure environment at a lower total cost to IT.” About Oracle Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) is the world's largest enterprise software company.
