Lugano, Switzerland, December 1, 2008 -- BOARD International, global leader in the BI & CPM Toolkit space, announces the release of BOARD 6.1 The version 6.1 extends BOARD interoperability to other vendors’ Multidimensional OLAP Servers (e.g. SAP BW, Microsoft AS, Hyperion Essbase) and offers some important improvements in key areas such as security management, support for large deployments and database administration.

The key new features of BOARD 6.1 are:

Integrated ODBO access to OLAP servers

This functionality provides the ability to query data from an OLAP server: the ODBO interface extends OLE DB to provide access to multidimensional data, making it available to the BOARD database environment.

Dynamic security profiles

Thanks to this new feature BOARD dynamically associates the logged-on user to a security profile automatically inherited from the hierarchy elements. This makes it possible to match user ID’s and job roles without the need for the Database Administrator to define the relationship through a database password.

LDAP authentication

BOARD 6.1 allows users authentication both from Microsoft Active Directory and Ligthweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). The most popular authentication servers such as Lotus Domino, Open LDAP Server, Apache Directory Server are now fully accessible by BOARD Master Security.

Increased architectural robustness for 1000+ users deployment

Through a peak optimization mechanism, BOARD 6.1 drastically improves the capability of handling sudden increases in the number of users’ processing requests.
