Oracle(R) Enterprise Performance Management System introduces prebuilt adapter for SAP financial data

New Release Simplifies Integration of SAP Financials with Oracle Hyperion Performance Management Applications, Delivers Expanded Language Support

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., April 30, 2009 -- Oracle today announced the general availability of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) System Release 11.1.1.2, which unifies Performance Management and Business Intelligence (BI) to support a broad range of strategic, financial and operational management processes enabling organizations to become smart, agile, and aligned.

The latest release features a pre-packaged source adapter for SAP financial data that reduces the complexity and costs of loading that data into Oracle Hyperion performance management applications and Oracle Essbase.

In addition to new data integration capabilities, Oracle EPM System features expanded localization features for Asia Pacific, Latin America and European markets.

Adapter for SAP Increases Confidence in Data, Streamlines Reporting and Planning Cycles

Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, a component of the Oracle EPM System which manages the movement and preparation of financial data, now delivers a prebuilt adapter that integrates SAP (versions R/3 4.6c and ECC 6) General Ledger data directly into Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance applications as well as Oracle Essbase for financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, in conjunction with the adapter, improves control of SAP corporate data by automating the collection, mapping, validation and movement of the data from the general ledger system into Hyperion applications and Essbase.

Furthermore, Hyperion application users have the ability to drill back to the source system. For example, if an expense in Hyperion Planning requires investigation, the user can drill through Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management to view the transactional details of the account in SAP.

With Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, organizations can develop standardized financial data management processes and validate data from any source system while helping to reduce costs and complexity.

Latest Oracle EPM System Delivers Expanded Language Support

Oracle EPM System Release 11.1.1.2 introduces product support for the following languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Danish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

A component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, the Oracle EPM System helps organizations achieve management excellence by uniting category-leading Hyperion performance management applications, prebuilt business intelligence (BI) applications and BI tools, into a complete and integrated system for managing and optimizing performance across business functions.

Built on Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards, the Oracle EPM System is hot-pluggable and integrates with non-Oracle data sources and platforms.

"We've taken a major step forward in helping organizations using SAP Financials to extend their operational excellence to management excellence by creating a direct link to Oracle's Hyperion applications," said Bill Guilmart, vice president of EPM Product Management, Oracle. "The new SAP adapter will enable organizations to efficiently load SAP general ledger data into Hyperion applications and to drill through to SAP Financials, enabling faster reporting and planning cycles, better data transparency and accurate results."

"Many SAP customers are using Oracle's market-leading EPM solutions to leverage the investments and data from these systems," said Terry Shea, President of DataFusion Consulting Group. "The improved SAP integration Oracle is delivering will speed implementations of Oracle's EPM solutions in SAP shops and make ongoing maintenance much easier."

"The enhanced direct sourcing integration of Oracle's EPM solutions with SAP's ERP systems will make data integration much more efficient and predictable for SAP customers," said Robert Cybulski, President of Finit Solutions. "In addition, the drill-through feature will enable users to move quickly from summary information to transactional details, which will help improve their reporting and analysis cycles."
