Guru Lounge Offers Relaxed Setting to Gain In-Depth Look at Latest Business Intelligence, Collaboration, Integration and Grid Solutions From Industry Experts

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Nov. 3, 2004 -- Oracle today announced the lineup of gurus for Oracle(R) OpenWorld San Francisco, Oracle's global business and technology conference, to be held Dec. 5-9, 2004 at Moscone Center. Recognized as innovators and leaders among industry peers, the Oracle Gurus will participate in innovative and highly interactive discussions with conference attendees about the future of technology in four key areas: business intelligence, collaboration, integration and enterprise grid computing.

Now in its fourth year, the popular "Meet the Gurus" program offers Oracle OpenWorld attendees the opportunity to interact directly with Oracle's top visionaries in an informal setting. The Oracle Gurus represent a broad spectrum of Oracle's applications and technology organizations and are responsible for some of the industry's most significant technology breakthroughs including grid computing and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). Some of the Oracle Gurus scheduled to participate in the conference include:

-- Mary Ann Davidson, Security Guru -- As the company's chief security officer Davidson has helped oversee development of the industry's most secure database, application server and enterprise software products for customers.

-- Amlan Debnath, Integration Guru -- As vice president of Server Technologies, Debnath oversees the development of the integration roadmap and strategy for Oracle Application Server 10g.

-- Greg Doherty, Oracle Collaboration Suite Guru -- As vice president of Oracle Collaboration Suite, Doherty is responsible for developing the company's Collaboration Suite business, including suite product management and architecture, global trade management, field and partner infrastructure and key customer deployments.

-- Cliff Godwin, Application Technology Guru -- As the senior vice president of Applications Technology, Godwin is responsible for ensuring that Oracle Applications effectively leverage Oracle's systems technologies. He focuses on applications architecture, standards, performance and installation used throughout Oracle Applications.

-- Andrew Mendelsohn, Oracle Real Application Clusters and Grid Computing Guru -- As senior vice president of Oracle's Server Technologies division, Mendelsohn leads development and product management for the Oracle database. Mendelsohn drives security, globalization and high availability technologies across the Oracle Database, Application Server and Collaboration Suite products. He led development of the Oracle Database 10g and is currently leading the effort to develop future database releases.

-- Ray Roccaforte, Business Intelligence Guru -- As vice president of Server Development for Oracle Business Intelligence, Roccaforte's team delivered the first truly integrated OLAP, data mining and ETL engines. His team is tasked with helping customers achieve real-time business intelligence with embedding sophisticated analytic capabilities into the database.

-- Richard Sarwal, Manageability and Performance Guru -- As the vice president of Server Performance, Sarwal focuses on managing information technology (IT) systems more effectively by optimizing performance, scalability, and availability at a significantly lower cost than ever before. For several years, his team has been involved in creating the infrastructure and tools to support a vision of proactive, automatic management of the database, a key element in Oracle's grid computing vision.

Each Oracle Guru is scheduled to present a general conference session at Oracle OpenWorld and will also be available throughout the conference for chat sessions in the OTN Guru Lounge, located in the Oracle DEMOgrounds on the Exhibit Hall floor.
