Stockholm, Sweden – August 21, 2013 – Starcounter today released the beta version of Starcounter 2.0. The next generation NoSQL database features a web platform that provides application and web developers easy integration with web applications and mobile clients including laptops, tablets, and phones. This advancement to the existing Starcounter in-memory database enables communication between clients and applications to be delivered faster with more automation and ease-of-use.

Starcounter’s database can process data transactions 100 times faster than a traditional database based on its patented VMDBMS technology, which includes features that will ease use and enhance database performance for developers. Pairing the high performing Starcounter database with the new integrated communications server and fast gateway can handle upwards of three million web requests in a single second, including the database transaction.

Starcounter’s web platform facilitates direct access to the existing database, so the transfer of data involved is automated. With Starcounter 2.0, not only is application time to market reduced, development is optimized, less servers and hardware are necessary, and maintenance is minimized.
