Quip 1.6: PDF, Printing, and More

San Francisco, CA, January 23, 2014 -- Quip (https://quip.com) announced the release of Quip 1.6 for iPhone and iPad, which adds a number of the most requested features to the product. You can download the update in the App Store.

You can now easily export your Quip documents to PDF from within the app, which makes it easy to attach a document to an email or send it to another app on your phone. Quip now supports AirPrint, so you can print wirelessly to any AirPrint-capable printer without any setup. You can now import your documents from Google Drive from within the iPhone and iPad app. Quip now updates in the background, so your shared documents will always be available instantly — even if you haven't opened the app in awhile.

Quip for iOS 7 was released September 16, 2013. Borrowing from the design language of iOS 7, the focus was on flattening and simplifying the design of our app while also adding a lot more color so that the app feels lightweight and fun.

Quip for Android was released December 5, 2013. Android accounts for about 50% of the smartphones in the US and 81% of the smartphones shipped in the world. With Quip for Android 1.0, billions of people around the world can now create beautiful documents that are seamlessly synced across their phone, tablet, and desktop — regardless of operating system or screen size.

Quip was founded by Bret Taylor and Kevin Gibbs, who worked together at Google. Bret and Kevin have created or worked on some of today's most widely used products, including Google Maps, Google App Engine and Facebook. They've hired a small team of people who are passionate about technology and about creating products for work that you actually enjoy using every day.
