Before implementing Fleetmatics Routist, Dillon Supply's routing was inefficient and their process for designating truckloads was extremely time consuming and done manually. In addition, they found it difficult to provide their customers with accurate estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) and deliveries were missed.

Fleetmatics Routist takes all the orders and optimizes the truck routes, equally distributing truck loads and mapping out locations on each driver’s route, allowing drivers to make timely deliveries during each company’s receiving times.
“Now all our deliveries are being made on time, so our customers are happy and will keep working with us. Also, our drivers are back at a decent time so we are spending less on overtime,” says Fentress.
Since using Fleetmatics Routist, the company has seen a huge difference in efficiency. “We can now get the customers the product when they want it, or at least within a 10–15 minute delivery window,” says Fentress. With Fleetmatics Routist, Dillon Supply can also send each truck’s route to the individual branches the night before deliveries so the branches can communicate to the customers when the shipments will arrive.

Fentress’s location had not been ticketed, but there have been violations in other locations. “We still need to balance the weight loads in the truck, but overloading isn’t an issue anymore as the software handles that for us.” Fentress has definitely seen a return on investment with the new solution and would recommend it to other companies, even those with larger fleets. “We knew we weren’t being efficient before we got Routist.
