Applix establishes TM1 Center of Excellence to advance best practices for BPM and BI applications

New Support Organization to Provide Application Guidance and Best Practices For TM1 Customers and Partners

WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Jan. 26, 2005 -- Applix, Inc. (Nasdaq: APLX), a global provider of single platform solutions for Business Performance Management (BPM) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the formation of the TM1 Center of Excellence, a global resource to provide Applix customers and partners best practice guidance throughout the application lifecycle.

TM1(R) is used by more than 1,900 businesses worldwide for more accurate and efficient financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. With a variety of front ends such as Microsoft Excel and the Web, TM1 provides a single view of financials and advanced capabilities for ad hoc reporting.

     * Reusable design patterns;
     * Industry-specific business modeling;
     * Back-end data integration; and
     * Application optimization and maintenance.
