ISCRAM 2005 starts today in Brussels

Brussels, BE, April 18, 2005 -- The Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM) community conference convenes today at the Palace of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts, near the Royal Palace and the Parliament Building in Brussels.

Two key note speakers are featured in today's morning session, John R. Harrald (George Washington University, USA) speaking about "Supporting agility and discipline when preparing and responding to extreme events" and Dan Power (Univ. of Northern Iowa, USA and DSSResources.com) speaking on "DSS for crisis planning, response and management". Following lunch 4 concurrent paper sessions will be held. The complete program is at iscram.org. The conference concludes Wednesday, April 20 at 16:30.

The ISCRAM community started on April 19 2004 at the occassion of our first workshop ISCRAM2004 in May 2004 and about 7 months later, on November 17th 2004, we welcomed our 200th registered member! Today, ISCRAM has almost 500 registered members!
