Master-Detail Report Interface

A Master-Detail Report is used to display data from a hierarchical data source. Generally the display screen is divided into two parts: 1) the top part which display master categories, and 2) the bottom part which display details about a selected category of topic. For example, the categories are a set of purchase orders and the detail is line items belonging to each purchase order. Another example is an expense report with categories in the master window and expense line items in the detail window. The master report window defines and displays the master categories and using a parent-child relationship defines the detail subreports.
