Oracle claims 2004 Intelligent Enterprise Reader's Choice Awards in two categories
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Aug. 25, 2004 -- Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) received top honors in two categories in Intelligent Enterprise Magazine's 2004 Reader's Choice Awards for Best Information Technology Products. Intelligent Enterprise readers recognized Oracle(R) Customer Data Management as the winner for Best Customer Data Integration and Oracle Database 10g as the winner for Best DBMS for Data Warehousing. Oracle Application Server 10g was selected as runner-up in the application integration category.
Among the industry's most prestigious honors, Intelligent Enterprise's Reader's Choice Awards are determined exclusively by subscribers' votes on products available on the market, and recognize IT solutions that help companies create an "intelligent enterprise." The results of the Reader's Choice Awards will be published in the September 2004 issue of Intelligent Enterprise.
"Progressive companies are consolidating enterprise systems and implementing new solutions to become an intelligent enterprise," said David Stodder, Editor-in-Chief of Intelligent Enterprise. "Oracle provides business solutions that resonate well with the needs of the market. Our readers have reacted favorably to Oracle's solutions, recognizing the company as one of the most important enabling vendors of strategic technologies."
Improving Upon Customer Data Management
Oracle understands that customer knowledge is the lifeblood of an organization. Oracle Customer Data Management helps solve the data fragmentation and data quality problems that distort views of customer data. It centralizes customer data from across the enterprise, continuously improving data quality and synchronizing data back to all source systems and end users. Data originating or transferred into the Oracle offering can be cleansed, enriched and then synchronized with other systems to provide a single source of truth. As a result, organizations can improve reporting accuracy, employee productivity, reliability of customer analytics and day-to-day customer relationships.
Oracle Customer Data Management comprises a family of products including Oracle Customer Data Hub, Oracle Customer Data Librarian and Customers Online. Additional information on Oracle Customer Data Management can be found at: http://www.oracle.com/data_hub/index.html .
Powering the World's Largest Commercial Databases
Oracle Database 10g provides a single, integrated database engine for scalable and high performing data warehousing implementations. Oracle simplifies the maintenance of ever-expanding data warehouses with a single management interface, self-tuning, and self-diagnosing features.
Intelligent Enterprise Reader's Choice Award is the latest in a string of honors for Oracle's data warehousing offerings. In May 2004, industry analyst firm Gartner placed Oracle in the 2004 Data Warehouse DBMS Leaders' Quadrant for completeness of vision and ability to execute (Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse DBMSs, 2004*). In November 2003, the Winter Corporation 2003 TopTen Program found that Oracle Database powered the largest (29.2 terabytes) commercial data warehouse in the world. According to the survey findings, the world's top 10 Unix online transaction processing (OLTP) databases, as measured by database size and number of rows/records, are managed by Oracle Database. Delivering the Industry's Only Complete Application Platform Suite
Oracle Application Server 10g is the industry's first Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and grid enabled application server to provide an integrated, standards-based software platform enabling organizations of all sizes to quickly adapt to changing business requirements. The newest release includes 573 new features, 450 of which were customer requested enhancements. Oracle Application Server 10g customers can now deploy and manage SOAs on Enterprise Grids, allowing them to quickly adapt both their business processes and IT assets to meet changing market conditions, competitive pressures and customer demands.
