from DSSResources.comSIGDSS Workshop "Reshaping Society through Analytics, Collaboration, and Decision Support" on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Milan, ItalyMay 22, 2013 -- In keeping with the ICIS2013 theme of "Reshaping Society", the 2013 SIGDSS Workshop aims to bring together academic professionals from around the world who have a passion for research and education innovation in “Reshaping Society through Analytics, Collaboration, and Decision Support: Role of BI and Social Media". The workshop will be held in Milan, Italy Sunday, December 15, 2013 in association with ICIS2013. ICIS is the major annual meeting of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), which has over 4,000 members representing universities in over 95 countries worldwide. A major purpose of the workshop is to bring together a core group of leading researchers in the field to discuss where computer involvement in human decisions is headed. Equally important is discussing the role of academic researchers in investigating current and future decision support applications and in creating them. This workshop will endeavor to find a balance between systematizing what we know so we can teach our findings from prior research better and stimulating excitement to move the field in new research directions. Computerized decision support, collaboration, analytics and computing and information technologies can reshape our world, but potentially they can reshape it in negative as well as positive ways. The research track seeks research that promotes theoretical, design science, behavioral research and development of emerging applications in innovative areas of analytics, collaboration and decision support. The teaching track invites contributions that focus on pedagogical practices addressing acquisition, application, and continued development of the knowledge and skills required in the use of analytics, collaboration, and decision support systems with special focus on business intelligence and social media. Both complete and research-in-progress papers are invited. Details on submission guidelines, template, and registration information can be found on the website. The list of topics can be found at: • Research - https://sites.google.com/a/uncg.edu/sigdss/call-for-papers/research-track • Teaching: https://sites.google.com/a/uncg.edu/sigdss/call-for-papers/teaching-track Those interested in panels are requested to contact the Panels Chair. publication in the Annals of Information
Systems in a Special Issue on “Reshaping Society through Analytics,
Collaboration, and Decision Support: Role of BI and Social Media” (Springer);
however, they will be subject to further review and editing as determined by
the book editors. Registration
