Themed "Enabling the Spatial Enterprise," the conference is sponsored by Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions and the Intergraph GeoSpatial Users Community (IGUC) and is scheduled for April 26-28 in San Francisco, Calif. GeoSpatial World 2005 is the premier event for Intergraph customers and individuals interested in learning more about managing and applying geospatial information and solutions from an international perspective. The conference is geared toward professionals working in commercial remote sensing and photogrammetry; communications; education; local, regional and national governments; military and intelligence; transportation; and utilities. The agenda includes hands-on workshops; business implementation and management issues; industry solutions presentations; technology updates; poster papers; certificate programs; exhibit; and networking events. As an adjunct to GeoSpatial World 2005, pre-conference training seminars and site tours to area Intergraph customers' facilities will be held on Monday, April 25. Free registration for one training seminar is included as part of the full paid conference attendance fee. Technical site tours will include San Mateo County's enterprise GIS, Sacramento Municipal Utilities District's geospatial resource management (GRM) solution, and the City of San Jose's Dept. of Public Works' GIS section. Additionally, conference attendees can sign-up to ride with a NAVTEQ field survey team to see how digital map data is collected in a live environment. A one-day Education Symposium will again take place during the conference. On April 27, the symposium will open with a panel session chaired by Professor Michael Goodchild, University of California, Santa Barbara. Presentations will include regional education models, information on NGA grant opportunities and innovative approaches to education.
