Seoul, South Korea, August 5, 2017 -- The Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group for Decision Support and Analytics (SIG DSA) announced it will sponsor a symposium prior to the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday, December 10, 2017, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The title of the symposium is "Analytics for Societal and Organizational Transformation".

Authors of accepted papers will have the option of publishing (a) extended abstract OR (b) complete manuscript as part of the conference proceedings on AIS eLibrary.

Papers accepted in the Research Track of the symposium will be eligible to be selected for fast track review at the following journals:

1) Information Systems Frontiers (ISF), special issue on Data Analytics in Behavioral Research

2) Journal of Global Information Technology Management (JGITM), special issue on Data Analytics and Applications: Global Issues

3) e-Service Journal

The theme of the symposium is "Analytics for Societal and Organizational Transformation". The symposium program will focus on research applications and issues as well as pedagogical practices pertinent to harnessing analytics and data science techniques for tackling societal and organizational problems.

The Research, Teaching, and Industry tracks in the symposium promise to bring together complementary aspects of research, pedagogy, and practice in the form of presentations, panels, and tutorials. The Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium will continue to build on the momentum from prior SIGDSA events by providing a forum for facilitating constructive discussions for researchers, instructors, and practitioners who are engaged in exploring topics and issues in business analytics and data science at large.

The Symposium is being organized by the Association for Information Systems? Special Interest Group on Decision Support and Analytics (SIGDSA). For the past three consecutive years, SIGDSA has received the outstanding SIG award from AIS for the wide variety of activities, events, and projects made available to SIG members. Oct 10th, 2017 (Tuesday): Acceptance decisions communicated to authors

Oct 31st, 2017 (Tuesday): Camera ready papers/Extended abstracts due (by midnight PST)

Nov 10th, 2017 (Friday): Early registration deadline for the authors, at least one author must be registered for the symposium

Dec 10th, 2017 (Sunday): 2017 Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium (9:00 am - 6:00 pm local time)
